Spicy Pumpkin Butter


1/4 cup dark brown sugar, packed
2 tbs. sugar
1/4 cup water
1/2 tsp. allspice
1/4 tsp. ginger
1/4 tsp. cloves
1/4 tsp. nutmeg
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1-1/2 cup pumpkin purée, canned or freshly prepared


  1. In a large bowl, combine all ingredients except the pumpkin puree.
  2. Mix well until all ingredients are totally incorporated.
  3. Add pumpkin purée and mix well until smooth.
  4. Refrigerate pumpkin butter. It can be stored in freezer.


Makes 2 cups
